Visual Storytelling
My work flows through various mediums and subjects to tell stories of places, people and moments in time.
Collage
From my hoards of ephemera I painstakingly hand cut and glue analogue collages that comment on social and local issues often using wit. I hope that the viewer connects with my work on a personal level.
Painting
Whether plein air or in the studio, I love to pick up my brushes and recreate a scene or object. Something that captures my attention and propells me to share it on canvas.
Exhibitions
I've been very privileged to have my work shown in various exhibitions in East Sussex. Click here to find out where my work can be seen.

About Me
I'm Melissa Hall. After graduating from Norwich School of Art in the late 1990s, followed by a career in graphic design, I've turned my focus back to visual art. I'm creating hand-cut analogue collages that use wit and insight to explore local issues and social commentary. I'm also a realist painter working in both acrylics and oils, capturing architecture, landscapes, and everyday objects with precision and warmth.
